Lost/Stolen Credit Card Hotline

Should your HSBC Credit Card be lost or stolen, it is important that you report the loss or theft to us immediately by contacting HSBC Phone Banking Services at 1500 700 (Premier) and 1500 8081 (other HSBC Credit Cards).

If you are overseas, you can contact HSBC Phone Banking Services at (6221) 2551 4722 (for HSBC Premier MasterCard Customers) or (6221) 2552 6603 (for other cards).

You can also report the loss or theft by visiting nearest HSBC branch.

By notifying us immediately, we can quickly assist in preventing losses and take the necessary action to replace your credit card.

You will be liable for all charges incurred on your card before any report of the loss or theft by phone has been received by us.

A nominal fee will also be charged to replace your HSBC credit card. For details refer to the latest Tariff and Charges related to your credit card on each credit card page

Credit Card Security Information

Losing your credit card will likely costs you financial loss and time. It is worth taking a little more care to ensure this never happens to you. Please be aware of the places that you most likely to lose your credit card such as busy public places or crowded places. Please do remember that even in the private places at your home or office, credit card is still at risk of being lost/stolen.

How can you protect your credit card?

  • Check you have your credit card after each purchase.
  • Treat your credit card like cash - please don't leave it lying around.
  • Check your statements - if there is a problem, inform the Bank immediately.
  • Use your Personal Identification Number (PIN) for every credit card transaction in EDC.
  • Never write down your Personal Identification Number (PIN) but memorize it.
  • If you changed your PIN, do not use obvious numbers such as telephone number, ID card number, or birthday.
  • Report any loss immediately.

Safe shopping on the internet

  • Use a secure browser.
  • Keep transaction records including Uniform Resource Locator (URL).
  • Manage your password(s) carefully - don't send your credit card details by email.
  • Check the merchant's reference and credibility.
  • Look for evidence that the internet merchant is using some security to protect your credit card data such as the icons showing SSL security. For details refer to One-Time Password (OTP).
