Prohibition of Double Swipe of Credit Card and Debit Card

Dear Valued Customer,

Referring to Bank Indonesia (BI) Regulation No. 18/40/PBI/2016 dated November 9, 2016 concerning the Implementation of Payment Transaction Processing which prohibits the collection or misuse of data other than for the purpose of processing payment transactions, including through double swiping of Debit Cards and Credit Cards. With this, we remind you to ensure the security of your data contained in your Debit Card or Credit Card and do not hesitate to refuse if a merchant tries to swipe your card on the cash register or any other device other than the Electronic Data Capture (EDC) machine.

For your reference, double swipe refers to the swiping of Debit Card or Credit Card on the cash register or any other device other than the EDC machine, before or after making a payment using the EDC machine. The swiping of debit or credit card in any merchant transaction is only allowed on the EDC machine.
