Train

Trains in western Malaysia are operated by Tanah Malayu, and link all the major and smaller cities along the peninsula, as well as Singapore. There is also a small railway in Sabah, operated by the Sabah State Railway.

The country has many airports, the largest of which is Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). Other important international gateways include Kota Kinabalu, Penang, Kuching, Langkawi and Senai. There are a number of secondary airports serving smaller towns, which serve as a bridge between the west and east parts of the country. Malaysia is the home of the low-cost airline AirAsia. Based in Kuala Lumpur, AirAsia flies to cities throughout Southeast Asia and China. The airline operates from the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) at KLIA.
